I’m sitting here - computer open, feeling invigorated, refreshed, and focused. I’ve spent three hours on myself - swimming, stretching, meditating, and calling a friend. My cup is full, and I’m feeling juicy and ready for my day.
Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case.
By lunchtime, I’m often filtering through a barrage of text messages & voicemails that leave me feeling uninspired. Then I take more time regrouping to get back in the zone for the days amazing customers and it’s simply not sustainable.
As I move into 2025, I’m making big changes to how I run my business. One of the biggest shifts? Transitioning to a new booking system.
I’ve been trialing it, and with a few tweaks, it’s working well. Soon, I’ll take my phone number offline entirely for new customers, redirecting all enquiries through an online booking form.
Now, I get it - this might sound… unsexy. But you know what’s worse? Burnout. And if we’ve spent time together, you know how much I love this work and want to be here for the long haul.
This change is about sustainability - for me, for my business, and for the wider industry. Sex Workers like me are human beings, here to nurture YOU. We show up ready to hold space for your needs, vulnerable and intimate, so you can feel safe to do the same. To keep offering this at my best, I need to shed what weighs me down, and the current enquiry process is one of those things.
A Closer Look at My "Why": Sustainability and Respect
This shift isn’t just about efficiency, though that’s part of it. Running a small business comes with every day demands, and administrative tasks - though essential - often feel overwhelming.
The deeper reason, though, is about respect. Intimacy requires care, professionalism, and mutual respect. Yet too often, my time and energy are treated as expendable. Casual, disrespectful messages, manipulation, and outright abuse are common, and after speaking with peers, I know I’m not alone.
Can you imagine someone treating their mechanic or hairdresser like this? Probably not. But in my line of work, it happens daily, and it’s exhausting. My colleagues and I deserve better.
The Numbers Don’t Lie
Over the past few weeks, I’ve analysed my enquiries, and the trend is clear. Around 5-10% of enquiries convert into bookings. What do the converted bookings have in common? Respectful, clear, and straightforward communication. They follow the process, provide the needed details, and treat my time and energy with care. These bookings excite me, and I look forward to creating unforgettable experiences for these clients.
The other 90%? Time-wasters. People who don’t read my advert or FAQ’s, provide minimal details, or treat the process like a disrespectful cat & mouse game. These enquiries drain my energy and distract from what matters most: clients who genuinely value my work.
This new system is my way of filtering out those who don’t respect my time or boundaries. It allows me to give more to the clients who truly deserve it - those who engage professionally and show mutual respect.
The “Unsexy” Truth: Time Is Self-Care
I know this change may seem unsexy, but here’s the truth: it’s going to make my business sexier than ever for my actual clients. By streamlining the booking process, I can focus on balance & self care which will pay off for those who value my time and effort, creating a more sustainable, respectful environment for everyone involved.
I’ll show up lighter, more playful, and energised for the clients who are ready to invest in a magical experience. When I feel safe and respected, I can give so much more - and that’s a win for all of us.
Looking Ahead to 2025
This new booking system may seem like a small adjustment, but its ripple effects will be huge. It’s about prioritising quality, professionalism, and respect. To my existing clients who’ve embraced this shift - thank you. It’s not just a service you’re booking; it’s a journey we’re going on together, and I hope it’s unforgettable for all the right reasons.
To everyone else, I encourage you to reflect on how you engage with businesses, especially those offering intimate or personal services. Respect is a two-way street, and when it’s mutual, something truly special can happen. In 2025, I’m raising the bar, and I’m confident it will lead to even more beautiful, fulfilling experiences.
